TEST

  I grew up in rural Alberta on an acreage 2.7 miles east of of the town of Millet. It was from here that I would venture out by bicycle. Sometimes, I would ride into town, and other times it was simply an interest in exploration. Roads were mostly gravel and their conditions ranged from rocky to sandy and everything in between. Safety was not a word that even crossed my mind as cars and trucks would barrel past me leaving me in their dusty wake. I also didn’t have water, GPS tracker, or cell phone to call for help. For me it was all about the idea of being alone to chart my own course. Google Maps tells me these courses around the countryside ranged from 3-6 miles depending how adventurous I was feeling that day. To me these courses felt like marathons and sometimes epic conquests. I recall becoming very tired a lot my legs burning from exhaustion but would imagine   fans along the road cheering me on. There were moments when I knew I was distinctly far away and at some point I needed
